"Nature Chemistry" did recently announce a new discovery on enzyme mimics behaviour made by Prof. P. Metrangolo and Prof. G. Resnati

A new article, written by Prof. P. Metrangolo and Prof. G. Resnati, was published on the issue n. 4 of Nature Chemistry 2012 (pp. 437-438).
    In this work, entitled
Enzyme mimics: Halogen and chalcogen team up, the authors explain that in the behaviour of the di-selenol enzyme mimics a halogen bond between selenium and iodine and a chalcogen interaction between the two selenium atoms play an important role in the activation of thyroid hormones.
